As Enbridge continues to hold information sessions on its proposed Northern Gateway Project, Skeena Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen last week called on the Federal Government to join mayors and First Nations in B.C. in opposing the project in its entirety.

“Mr. Speaker, after leaking millions of barrels of oil into Michigan’s rivers, Enbridge is still planning to build a pipeline across northwest B.C. to carry raw bitumen to China,” said Cullen, who also serves as the NDP national critic for Natural Resources and Energy, on November 5 .

“(September’s) resolutions at the Union of British Columbia Municipalities were clear. The mayors of British Columbia say no. First Nations from across the province made clear their opposition at the First Nations Summit. The First Nations of British Columbia say no..What part of no does the government find it so difficult to understand,” he asked to conclude.
